Le conseil des prud'hommes de Wuppertal dans l'ouest de l'Allemagne a jugé que certains articles du code de conduite de la société américaine dérogeaient au droit allemand. Nombre de sociétés américaines essaient d'imposer leurs codes de conduite en Allemagne, et le jugement pourrait constituer un précédent important. Une clause du code de Wal-Mart interdit notamment aux employés toute "communication (entre deux personnes) pouvant être interprétée sexuellement". Wal-Mart avait même mis en place une "hotline éthique", grâce à laquelle les employés pouvaient se dénoncer les uns les autres. Le comité d'entreprise allemand de la société avait porté plainte aux prud'hommes. Wal-Mart emploie 12.500 personnes dans 89 hypermarchés en Allemagne, un des seuls pays européens où le numéro un mondial ait réussi à s'implanter. © AFP.
